Beginning his apprenticeship as a young lad in Bundaberg in the early 70s, Johno later made the move to Ingham in 1980, a decision that ultimately led to the establishment of J & B Marine in 1993. Founded by Johno and Bobbie, the business quickly became a staple of the local boating community. Their son Luke joined the business at just 15, completing his apprenticeship under his parents’ guidance. Over the years, J & B Marine flourished—expanding its offerings to include boat sales, service, and a fully stocked boating chandlery.
Now, as the marine industry continues to evolve, the next chapter of J & B Marine is being proudly written by Luke and Chloe. Luke, who has been with the business for 17 years, and Chloe, contributing just under two, have taken the reins of the long-standing family enterprise with pride and vision. Their leadership reflects the same values Johno and Bobbie built the business on: quality, reliability, and genuine care for their customers.
Today, J & B Marine continues its forward momentum, supplying leading brands such as Stessl and Polycraft boats paired with powerful Mercury outboard engines. The business remains one of North Queensland’s most trusted marine dealers, with a reputation for excellence that keeps customers in the winner’s circle for all their boating and fishing needs
